“I am the good Shepherd”

Who among us is qualified to frame estimates of His excellencies that are eternal, or to appraise the value of His virtues? The Gospels give us glimpse of the sweetness of His sympathy, as He wept with the sorrowing; the kindness of His care, as He sought the lost sheep; the tenderness of His touch, as He raised the widow of Nain’s son; and the gentleness of His grace, as He stood still in answer to the plea of a blind beggar at Jericho; but how little a portion is known of Him (Job 26.14).

When our Lord linked the “I am” title to His claim by saying, “I am the good Shepherd,” He was declaring Himself to be the continuous one continually, the One who always will be. This feature bespeaks His omnipresence. His knowledge of the names of all stars (Isa. 40.26), as the Shepherd of the same (Isa. 40.11,27), and of all His sheep, which is twice affirmed (John 10.3,14), constitutes a witness to His complete comprehension and betokens His omniscience. His statement concerning the security of His hand and of His Father, attests His omnipotence.

This threefold cord of His omnipresence, omniscience, and omnipotence overwhelmingly assure guidance, sustenance, and maintenance for His sheep everlastingly. He Himself said, “They shall never perish” (John 10.28).

                              “Eu sunt Pastorul Cel Bun”

    Care dintre noi are capacitatea de a masura calitatile Lui eterne sau a aprecia virtutile Lui? Evangheliile ne ofera cate o privire fugara asupra compasiunii Lui atunci cand a plans cu durere; asupra bunatatii cu care El Se ingrijeste atunci cand cauta oaia pierduta; asupra tandretei atingerii Sale cand l-a inviat pe fiul vaduvei din Nain; si a bunavointei harului Sau cand El S-a oprit ca raspuns la cererea orbului cersetor de la Ierihon Dar despre El cunoastem o atat de mica parte! (Iov 26.14).

    Cand Domnul nostru a asociat titlul Sau de “Eu sunt” cu “Pastorul Cel Bun,” El Se declara a fi Acelasi etern pentru eternitate. Aceasta trasatura ne spune despre omniprezenta Lui, cum El cunoaste pe nume toate stelele (Isaia 40.26), cum El este Pastorul lor (Isaia 40. 11,27) si al tuturor oilor Sale, despre care avem in doua randuri afirmat (Ioan 10.3,14), iar faptul acesta constituie o marturie a omniscientei Sale. Declaratia Lui cu privire la siguranta pe care o confera mana Sa si aceea a Tatalui atesta omnipotenta Lui.

    Aceasta funie din trei fire: omniprezenta, omniscienta si omnipotenta asigura indrumare, mijloace de subzistenta si sustin pentru totdeauna oile Sale. El Insusi a spus: “Nu vor pieri, niciodata” (Ioan 10.28).

WE ARE ONE PRAYER ARMY
PRAY HARD, PRAY FAST, PRAY OFTEN.

Dear God,You know our hearts, you hear our prayers, and you care about all that concerns us. You understand the burdens we carry and how we want, more than anything, to see our loved ones come to you. Help us to remember that you love them more than we ever could. And you desire to answer our prayers quickly in this season, to extend your magnificent love, forgiveness, mercy and hope.
Thank you that nothing is too difficult for you. Thank you that your power is unlimited and you came to set the captives free. Thank you that you wait, arms open, for the prodigal to return, that you look for his arrival to lavishly celebrate that he’s come home.
We praise you for you are Redeemer and Rescuer, Savior and Lord. We know and believe that there’s no pit so deep that your love can’t reach us still. We understand that your mercies are new every morning, and your faithfulness is great. Oh Lord, you are so faithful.
Lord, we ask that you would halt the plans of the enemy over our loved ones, as we bring them before you right now. We pray that the enemy’s schemes be demolished and that your plans for good, for a future and hope, would prevail. Would you open blind eyes that they might see your Truth, and open deaf ears to hear your Word. Would you rescue those walking in darkness and heal the deep wounds of those who’ve been hurt.
We pray for the miraculous intervention of your Spirit place a desire in their hearts to draw them to yourself, to work strong on behalf of our loved ones who are lost and wandering.
For you came with good news, to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for captives and release for the prisoners.
Though we deserved penalty for our wrong, you stood in our place and took the blows on our behalf. You choose to die, so that we can live. Eternally free.
Lord, forgive our unbelief. Forgive the times we’ve doubted that you could ever change a distant heart. Forgive our hard-heartedness, our weariness, or forgetfulness to “pray continually.”
Thank you that you never give up on us, never forsake us or leave us alone.
Remind us of how you’ve changed our own hearts and lives. How your miracle of life and hope has sprung up deep within our hearts and souls.
We love you Lord. We need you every moment of every day and we thank you that you always hear our prayers and are at work to complete our requests, even now.

The uncreated Light

    In 1 John 1.5 he begins his message. Where does he start? With this great fact that “God is Light” and not, as we might expected, with the fact that God is love. All the emphasis would no doubt have been on His love had the manifestation been made in regions of unsullied purity and light. As however the manifestation has been made in this world, so filthy with sin and full of darkness, the first emphasis must be laid on light.

    As to light – who can define it? Men have formulated theories to account for the light of creation, but they cannot really explain it. Who then shall explain the uncreated Light? We know that light is necessary if life is to exist in any but its lowest forms. We know that it is healthful, that it illuminates and exposes all things, and that if it enters darkness flees. In God there is no darkness at all, for darkness stands for that which is removed from the action of light, that which is hidden and sinful.

    Not only is God Himself light but, as verse 7 tells us, He is “in the light.” Once the Lord had said, “that He would dwell in the tick darkness” (2 Chron. 6.1); and the fact that Solomon built Him an house did not alter it, for His presence was still found in the Holy of Holies, where all was dark. This was altered by the coming of the Lord Jesus, for God stepped into the light in Him. The God who is light is now in the light F. B. Hole

Lumina necreata
    In 1 Ioan 1.5 el incepe mesajul. Cu ce incepe? Cu faptul extrem de impotant ca “Dumnezeu este Lumina’  si nu, cum ar fi fost de asteptat, ca Dumnezeu este dragoste. S-ar fi pus accent numai pe dragostea Lui, daca manifestarea ar fi fost acolo unde nu ar fi nimic intinat si totul in lumina. Dar, cum aceasta manifestare este in lumea atat de mult intinata prin pacat si plina de intuneric, se pune accent in primul rand pe lumina.
    Si, daca este vorba de lumina, cine o poate defini? Oamenii au formulat teorii cu privire la lumina din creatie, dar nu prea o pot explica.Cine ar putea atunci explica Lumina necreata? Stim ca lumina este necesara pentru existenta vietii, cu exceptia celor mai inferioare forme de viata. Stim ca lumina este sanatoasa, ca ea face vizibile toate lucrurile si ca ea risipeste intunericul. In Dumnezeu nu este pic de intuneric, deoarece intunericul este ceea ce lumina inlatura, prin prezenta ei, ceea ce este scuns si pacatos.
    Nu numai ca Dumnezeu Insusi este lumina, ci, dupa cum ne spune versetul 7, El este “in lumina.” Odinioara Domnul a spus ca “va locui in intuneric gros” (2 Cron. 6.1) si faptul ca Solomon I-a construit o casa nu schimba acel lucru, deoarece prezenta Lui se afla in Sfanta Sfintelor, unde era intuneric. Aceasta s-a schimbat la venirea Domnului Isus, deoarece Dumnezeu a venit in lumina prin El. Dumnezeu care este Lumina este acum in lumina.

 BORN TO DIE

Those soft baby hands fashioned by the Holy Spirit in Mary’s womb were made to have two nails hammered thorough them. Those little chubby feet were made to walk up the hill and be nailed to a cross. That sacred head was made to wear a crown of thorns. His tender body wrapped in the swaddling clothes would be pierced by a spear to reveal a broken heart. The death of Christ was NO ACCIDENT: HE WAS BORN TO DIE.

Being Human Beings
November 25, 2017
Read: 1 Peter 2:11–17; 3:8–9

All of you, be like-minded, be sympathetic, love one another, be compassionate and humble.—1 Peter 3:8
When asked to define his role in a community that was sometimes uncooperative with law enforcement, a sheriff didn’t flash his badge or respond with the rank of his office. Rather he offered, “We are human beings who work with human beings in crisis.”
His humility—his stated equality with his fellow human beings—reminds me of Peter’s words when writing to first-century Christians suffering under Roman persecution. Peter directs: “All of you, be like-minded, be sympathetic, love one another, be compassionate and humble” (1 Peter 3:8). Perhaps Peter was saying that the best response to humans in crisis is to be human, to be aware that we are all the same. After all, isn’t that what God Himself did when He sent His Son—became human in order to help us? (Phil. 2:7).
Gazing only at the core of our fallen hearts, it’s tempting to disdain our human status. But what if we consider our humanness to be part of our offering in our world? Jesus teaches us how to live fully human, as servants recognizing we are all the same. “Human” is how God made us, created in His image and redeemed by His unconditional love.
Today we’re sure to encounter folks in various struggles. Imagine the difference we might make when we respond humbly—as fellow humans who work together with other humans in crisis. —Elisa Morgan
Father, help us to be humble as we respond to one another, human being to human being.
Humility is the result of knowing God and knowing yourself.
INSIGHT: Have you noticed that when people receive a great honor for their accomplishments they often acknowledge their humble roots? Even legendary athletes admit that they were just an everyday kid from somewhere—just like us.
Peter sees how important it is for those who know they are God’s representatives to remember who they were. In recognizing their high honor (1 Peter 2:9), Peter urges followers of Christ to remember that once they had no sense of belonging to God; once they had not received mercy (2:10). Later in the same letter he reminds those who are leaders among the Lord’s people to recognize their own accountability to God and not to lord it over those entrusted to their care (5:3).
At best we are all common folks from somewhere who have been called to love others as God has loved us.
